Description
The Pro-Elite® Japan Series mitts are different from anything you have ever put on your
hand. The finger stalls are shifted to the left creating a rotated hand pattern that allows
you to present the pocket without over-rotating your hand. These mitts are lighter too
which means you can receive from the bottom of the zone with much less forearm
fatigue. Faster mitt speed means more balls converted to strikes.
The low-profile pinky and thumb construction creates a significantly larger pocket
than standard American catcher’s mitts. With more pocket to work with, the functional
catching area increases dramatically so that you can pull pitches more effectively.
Feedback from the pros is that these mitts have a larger sweet spot. Premium Japanese
HIMEJI leather adds to the comfort factor.
Why is the web so loose? This traditional Japanese loose webbing speeds up the breakin process. Catchers in Japan start with the break-in process with the web loose. As the
mitt starts to take shape, they begin to gradually tighten the web to their preferred level.
